Dogpatch Labs

Dogpatch Labs is a networking space for scaling technology startups, located underground in the vaults of the CHQ Building, in the heart of Dublin’s Digital Docklands.

Our client required an eco-friendly air conditioning system providing heating, cooling and ventilation without altering the original structure of the historic 200 year old CHQ vaults.

Providing a fresh, pure, clear ambience for customers

The challenge

The system we installed needed to be easily removable in case of future ownership requirements. Installation was to be achieved without any damage to the original brickwork of the vaults whilst the vaulted ceilings were to remain free of any fittings.

The system would also need to provide consistent fresh, cool, clean air around the large office space upstairs containing over 150 desks to counterbalance the underground atmosphere to achieve an overall comfortable environment.

The solution

We needed flexibility in an air conditioning system to overcome any challenges we might have faced due to the delicate nature of project and the structural requirements. Panasonic provided the best solution for our clients specifications. Their VRF ECOi MF2 series and floor-standing units allowed for us to overcome any challenges we could have faced along the way.

The design of the Panasonic floor-standing units meant they could be easily removed and did not need to be attached to the fabric of the building, which allowed for the vaulted ceiling to remain free of any fittings. To save energy, this system which provides simultaneous heating and cooling, can also extract warm air and redistribute it to cooler areas around the space.

Dogpatch Labs

“Hiring Crystal Air Ltd to carry out our air conditioning installation and servicing turned out to be a great decision. We knew we were in good hands from the first meeting and we are very pleased with the result.”
